The Challenge
YouTube looked to us to develop and produce their first ever feature length documentary to celebrate pride and put YouTube Originals on the map.
The Approach
Helmed by Oscar-winning filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, State of Pride took an unflinching look at LGBTQ Pride, from the perspective of a younger generation.
The Results
State of Pride made its world premiere at the the SXSW Film Festival in 2019. It has now been streamed over 3m times on YouTube and received a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Documentary.
Behind the Scenes
YouTube and filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are partnering on State of Pride, an unflinching look at the significance of Pride 50 years after the historic Stonewall riots.
