What drew you to the world of production/post-production?
Watching movies allowed me to connect with my friends and family, despite not sharing many interests with them growing up. My fondest memories are just going on huge movie marathons with my cousins and my friends, and just geeking out on our favorite moments. I realized that being part of that process, no matter how small the role, is what I want to do for my career.
What inspires you creatively?
Just being able to witness other people’s work around me. Whether it be a movie from my favorite director or movie I’ve never heard of, it challenges me to figure out what made their piece of work so great, and how I can apply those tools to my work. I also have a lot of creative friends, and seeing them thrive and express themselves through their art motivates me to do the same.
What are you hoping to gain from your internship experience with Portal A?
Through the Portal A internship, I’m hoping to gain a much better understanding of the production and post production process, learning various roles and seeing what needs to be done on a professional level. Also to gain experiences from the tasks that I’ve be given, challenging me to grow and learn more as a video editor.
What are some of your career goals in the world of production?
Some of my career goals is to be a lead editor on a feature film. Another goal of mine is to write and direct my own film.
