Our team is looking to bring on board a Communications Director. This individual will be responsible for shaping the company’s narrative and positioning Portal A as a leader in social and creator content, along with marketing the brekathrough content we create on behalf of our partners.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic storyteller with a deep understanding of digital media, the creator economy, and the evolving landscape of entertainment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & PR
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to enhance Portal A’s brand awareness and industry reputation.
- Oversee public relations efforts, including media outreach, press releases, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry journalists, media outlets, and key stakeholders.
- Secure high-impact media coverage in entertainment, advertising, and digital media publications.
- Manage crisis communications and ensure consistent messaging across all external communications.
Marketing & Promotion of Company Work
- Lead the marketing strategy for the work Portal A creates, ensuring campaigns, series, and branded content are amplified across digital and industry channels.
- Develop promotional campaigns for major projects, including case studies, behind-the-scenes content, and social media rollouts.
- Collaborate with creative and production teams to highlight key successes, industry awards, and partnerships.
- Identify new opportunities to showcase Portal A’s work at industry events, festivals, and trade publications.
- Build out and manage a library of past projects, ensuring they are effectively marketed to new and existing partners.
Brand & Content Marketing
- Lead the development of Portal A’s brand voice, messaging, and positioning across all platforms.
- Work closely with the creative and marketing teams to amplify company initiatives, projects, and partnerships.
- Oversee the company’s owned media channels, including social media, website, and newsletters.
- Conceptualize and produce compelling content, such as blog posts, case studies, and thought leadership articles.
Executive & Internal Communications
- Support company leadership with key messaging, speech writing, and executive visibility initiatives.
- Develop internal communications strategies to engage employees and reinforce company culture.
- Lead communications around major company milestones, announcements, and internal events.
Industry Engagement & Partnerships
- Represent Portal A at industry conferences, panels, and networking events.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to increase the company’s influence and visibility.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging platforms to inform communication strategies.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or content marketing, preferably in entertainment, media, or digital content.
- Proven track record of securing high-impact media placements and managing PR campaigns.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Deep understanding of social platforms, influencer culture, and digital-first content.
- Strong network of media contacts in entertainment, advertising, and digital media.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment.
- Experience managing agency relationships and external partners.

Annual Salary Range: $85k-$120k per year base salary. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this full-time position. Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience. Full-time employees are also eligible for bonus and benefits.
