I doubt he’s going to have Marilyn Monroe jumping out of a cake, but at least Obama will receive a warm happy birthday from the Portal A team. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for him so let’s throw it back to pre-White House and show you all this video critique of his 2004 speech on PBS. His 2004 DNC Convention speech was the real beginning of his unparalleled meteoric rise (he wasn’t even a Senator when he was asked to give the keynote) and the speech was as masterfully written as it was delivered (no speech writing team too, btw). Even David Brooks, center-right NYT columnist, couldn’t stop himself from falling all over the unknown politician from Illinois–”This is like watching Tiger Woods play in his first tournament.” Enjoy…
