Portal A Gets No Respect
June 19th, 2009 by SamNate, Kai and lowly intern Sam make an attempt to get Portal A some local recognition. Very local.
Plus, if you fan us on Facebook and invite your friends to do the same you could win some devilishly cool prizes. Peep the vid for details.

Bull Markets Come and Go, Snobbery is Forever
June 7th, 2009 by WillI know I haven’t posted on the Portal A site in a long, long time but I’ve been a bit busy finishing up my thesis and trying to graduate from college. Luckily I completed everything and have now joined Nate and Kai in the ranks of college grads.
One interesting thing occurred in my chase to the diploma: the Senior Class Committee made a horrible mistake this year and selected me to deliver the “Ivy Oration” (read: pretentious term for ‘funny speech’) at Class day.
Here is the video below:
To continue my 10 seconds of fame, my mug was featured (in the background) on the NBC Today show because Matt Lauer gave a speech after me:
Finally, probably the most funny part of the day is my behavior in the background as the Ames award was presented (it was presented right before my own speech, given my blatant practicing):
The Rotten Tomatoes Show
May 22nd, 2009 by KaiRecently I’ve been asked to review films for the Rotten Tomatoes Show. It goes something like this: they give me a movie and some money; I go see the move; I webcam a review; they select 15 seconds of my five minute review, cut it with other people’s reviews and air it on TV (it gets aired on Current TV [bonus points if you've ever tuned in to that channel])
I’ve started to notice that they usually select serious quotes of mine. I’ve become the guy you relate to if you have no sense of humor and enjoy finding the hidden themes. Here’s a couple of the latest reviews:
Friday Master Class: Chester French
May 15th, 2009 by NateYesterday, I had the chance to conversate with the up-and-coming pop band, Chester French. Having released an acclaimed mixtape (”Jacques Jams Vol 1.: Endurance”) and a piping hot debut album (”Love the Future”) within the last two months, the band is now off on a world tour of live shows and loosely defined “parties.” Here’s the recording I made of our phone chat, in which we discuss their music, touring, and the future of video (hint: pretty soon, it’s going to be played on large boxes in people’s homes!). You can learn more about them and download their music at www.chesterfrench.com.
